Guest commentators Seufert, Holiday, and McKenna on what you need to know about market volatility and tariffs
Bigger guests. Bigger topics. Same great content.

ADSN is brought to you by Dash.fi

ADSN was on-air twice this week!!
Week one of ADSN was a hit. We had to do it even bigger for week two so we were on air not once, but twice! And this time, we brought even more friends to the party. Scroll down to read it all, otherwise enjoy a close up of James and Daniel on your big screen.
We kicked things off with the a roundup of everything James and Daniel were talking about from X.
🤖 Canadian CEO, Tobi Lutke preemptively leaked his own leaked internal memo. The tl;dr? Shopify is all in on AI and if you’re not on board, it’s time to get out.
🌍 Tariffs — the topic you haven’t heard enough about that might flip DTC and ad platforms upside down.
🧠 What the heck are Model Context Protocols and should we care? (Short answer: yes. Long answer: very yes)

Just got a reality check from our manufacturer 😬
The China tariffs we've been hearing about for months just landed on our doorstep…
Our COGS are going up 15% for all materials sourced from China. That's a significant hit to margins in an already challenging environment.

THE INEVITABLE MCP BATTLE
If you work in AI, you've probably heard of MCP (Model Context Protocol), an extension of tool calling that allows agents to interact with applications in a standardized way.

It wasn’t all fun and games with posts from X. We promised more friends of ADSN joining the party and we didn’t want to disappoint

This is ASDN. And we brought backup.
This week’s on-air lineup of guest commentators was a who’s who of adtech and marketing. If we were Vegas, this would be a -1500 odds against just about anyone else.
Conor McKenna from LUMA Partners joined us to talk M&A markets, what happens to deal flow in volatile times, and why “waiting it out” might be the most expensive strategy of all.
Eric Seufert of Mobile Dev Memo helps breakdown how increased costs from tariffs could ripple through ad auctions, the import/export dynamics of ad platforms, and why this may be a boon for Meta and Google.
Taylor Holiday from Common Thread Collective joins the show to talk about what DTC brands are already doing to manage cost pressure from tariffs, how brands have to adapt to the new normal of uncertainty, and where brands cut first (…it’s not marketing).

Actual footage of James scheduling this week’s ADSN guests
Next week?
More hot takes. More guests. More fun.
And maybe James will finally be filming from a country without a trade deficit.
